The Chen Style Lao Jia Yi Lu featured in this video is the oldest form of Chen style Taijiquan still practiced today, throughout China and the world. Lao Jia (old frame), which includes Yi Lu as well as Er Lu was developed by Chen Chang Xing, the 14th generation Chen Taijiquan patriarch, during the Qing dynasty. It is a synthesis of the original shadow boxing forms created in the Ming dynasty (17th century) by Chen Wang Ting, the founder of Taijiquan.
